XDCAM EX

The PMW-500 is Sony Professional’s first XDCAM HD422 Camcorder with solid state recording. It supports full-HD 422 50-Mbps MXF record and playback based on highly developed MPEG-2 Long GOP compression technology. Uniquely, it can also be switched to record in HD 420 35-Mbps MP4 format which makes for seamless integration when used alongside XDCAM EX models.

Its 2/3-inch type three Power HAD FX CCD sensors deliver the same outstanding picture quality and low-light performance as the acclaimed PDW-700, however it records onto Solid State SxS media rather than optical Professional Disc.

The exceptionally ergonomic chassis is a development of the acclaimed PDW-700/F800, while already class-leading power consumption is further reduced along with weight for superb on-location usability.

Super 35mm Full-HD Compact Camcorder with 35mm, 50mm and 85mm lenses. The PMW-F3K is part of the CineAlta 24P family of digital cinematography products and its support for multiple frame rates includes a filmic 23.98P as well as S-Log workflows.The camera is supplied with three high quality Sony lenses and an industry standard PL Mount adaptor providing compatibility with industry standard 35mm lenses.

Exceptional flexibility is a key feature of the PMW-F3K along with with multiple workflow options. XDCAM EX’s proven high-speed, intuitive workflow offers seamless integration with leading nonlinear editing software - as standard. In addition, a 10bit 4:2:2 HD-SDI output opens up hybrid recording possibilities with a variety of external recording devices.

The PMW-EX3 follows on from the successful launch of the new PMW-EX1 and offers all the great features of the PMW-EX1 in a new semi-shoulder design. In addition to this new design the camcorder also features an interchangeable lens system, genlock, timecode and remote control capability for real added flexibility, offering a low-cost HD studio solution. The PMW-EX3 combines a state-of-the-art, non-linear XDCAM workflow with simply the best HD quality yet seen in a semi-shoulder camcorder. It is also the first semi-shoulder camcorder to carry the legendary CineAlta 24P brand with multiple frame rate recording capability such as 59.94i, 50i, and native 23.98P, as well being 1080i/720P switchable.

The PMW-EX1R is the successor to the multiple award-winning EX1 and further extends the capabilities of the XDCAM EX family with great new features such as DVCAM recording, Cache Recording, Picture Inversion and a host of additional refinements. The EX1R is the ideal solution for customers such as broadcasters, independent videographers and film makers who need exceptional HD picture quality and state-of-the-art workflow from a compact and affordable handheld camcorder.

Sony’s XDCAM EX professional product range is designed to exploit the ultimate high performance of SxS memory cards. It combines a proven, non-linear XDCAM workflow with the only Full HD resolution sensor system available in a compact camcorder. This advanced imaging system consists of three ½-inch type Exmor™ CMOS sensors, each with an effective pixel count of 1920x1080, to produce images in full HD resolution. In addition, there's a purpose-built Fujinon Professional HD 14x zoom lens and a unique dual focus ring mechanism.

The EX1R supports multiple frame rate recording such as 59.94i, 50i, and native 23.98P and 25P as well as being 1080i/720P switchable. There is also a choice of a 35Mb/s High Quality mode, 25Mb/s HDV 1080i compatible mode and 25Mb/s Standard Definition DVCAM recording. Twin memory card slots support up to 280 minutes HD recording time using two 32GB SxS PRO memory cards.
