This month we've gone on a bit of a mad spending spree! We've added 5 brand new Sony HDC-1500R camera channels to the 20 x HDC-1500's that we already have. In addition to this we've added 2 more Sony SRW-5800/2 and 2 more SRW-5500/2 HDCAM SR vtrs, taking our total count to over 30 machines, 3 x Sony PDW-F1600 XDCAM professional disc recorders and 6 more nanoFlash. To complete the shopping list we've just taken delivery of 5 additional Sony PMW-500 XDCAM Camcorders, that should do it for now!

Video Europe is proud to announce the highly anticipated Canon EOS 5D Mark III is now available for hire. With supercharged EOS performance and stunning full frame, high-resolution image capture, the EOS 5D Mark III is designed to perform. With an extended ISO range of 100-25600, a newly designed 22.3 Megapixel full-frame Canon CMOS sensor, Canon DIGIC 5+ Image Processor, and shooting performance up to 6.0 frames per second this camera really does hit the mark.

Video Europe have signed multiple deals worth in excess of £250,000 to supply broadcast equipment to this years Olympic Games hosted in London and the UEFA Euro 2012 Championships held in Poland and Ukraine. Equipment includes Sony HDC-1500 Camera Channels, XDCAM Camcorders and VTR's as well as a huge range of lenses, tripods and monitors.

Video Europe's Outside Broadcast Division supplied its OB Trucks for coverage of the England vs Holland friendly at Wembley for Aljazeera Sport. The setup included a three camera HD presentation studio including sound and lighting facilities and also a single camera pitch side report position.
As well as the studio, there was a requirement for six of the hosts feeds and live hits from The London Studios. Presenters Terry Venebles, Glenn Hoddle and Angus Scott were live for 4 hours via fibre and satellite to millions of viewers across Europe and the Middle East.

Video Europe is pleased to announce the arrival of Terry Millard, his role within the company defined as Business Development Director.

Millard, previously employed by Onsight Ltd as General Manager will spearhead the growth of our camera and non linear business. With a strong reputation already for supplying top end Avid, FCP, camera equipment, VTR, and tapeless technologies, the plan is for Millard to expand the operation and to take on more project and Outside Broadcast based work.

Video Europe provided a 10 camera equipment package for the press event coverage of Stephen Spielberg's brilliant film adaptation of the Michael Morpurgo novel.

We were also on hand to supply our HD OB truck for the Royal Premiere which was graced by Will and Kate. The production featured 6 x Sony HDC-1500 camera channels and EVS play-ins.

Having already had success with our existing Sony OLED Monitors, the flagship BVM-E250 grading monitor and the PVM-740 field monitor we are happy to announce two more additions to the family, the PVM-2541 & PVM-1741.

Tom Cruise was out on the red carpet again for his latest movie, Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol. Video Europe provided it's HD OB along with 5 Sony HDC-1500 camera channels for the coverage of this premiere. We also supplied the HD projection and 'You Tube' internet feed for the event held at the IMAX in London Waterloo.

The RED EPIC camera was used to shoot 'backplates' with the Harry Potter cast for the soon to open Harry Potter Theme Park at the re-developed Leavesden Studios – home of all 7 Harry Potter films.

Video Europe supplied the equipment  for the two Day 10 camera press event coverage of Guy Ritchie’s follow up to the hugely successful original film. Robert Downey Junior and Jude Law once again return as Holmes and Watson. Stephen Fry and Noomi Rapace join the cast and add to the fun in this action packed adventure.

We also supplied our OB for the premiere at Empire Cinema in Leicester Square which incorporated 4 x SD Cameras, 2 HD SNG paths and an internet feed for world distribution.

Canon have raised the curtain on an all-new interchangeable-lens digital video camcorder that combines exceptional imaging performance with outstanding mobility and expandability to meet the demanding production needs of today's motion picture industry. The camcorder, which features a newly developed Super 35 mm-equivalent approximately 8.29-megapixel CMOS sensor, will be available in two models: the EOS C300 Digital Video Camcorder, equipped with an EF lens mount and the EOS C300 PL Digital Video Camcorder, equipped with a PL lens mount for use with industry-standard PL lenses.

We've waited a long time for a decent grading monitor and after a couple of attempts we think Sony have finally cracked it, nothing since the BVM-D24 CRT has caused so much interest. This 24.5-inch Full-HD Reference OLED Monitor is perfect for professional applications such as colour grading, high-end editing and broadcasting. British olympic long jump hopeful J J Jegede jumped over three MINI London 2012 Edition Models at a specially constructed long jump pit at London's Potters Fields. The Sony PMW-500 camera has proved extremely popular this year, so to keep up with demand we have purchased some more of these wonderful cameras. This camera seems to tick all the boxes with XDCAM HD422 recording HD material at up to 50Mb/s onto Solid State media using SxS cards.

Having recently just purchased our first RED EPIC camera, we thought it wise to send one of our employees on RED's first REDucation course in the UK, held at Pinewood Studios. RED's goal for this course was a fully immersive, hands on, practical training and teaching of the RED ONE/EPIC camera system for both on set practices and post production practices.

We searched high and low for a quality camera rig that can meet the tough demands of the camera rental game but the search is finally over, enter the Kinomatik MOVIEtube CR. Video Europe are proud to announce that we have purchased our first Red camera, the EPIC-M. In a package one third the size of a RED ONE, resides a 5K Mysterium-X™ sensor and a 27 layer ASIC, the most advanced processor of its type in the world, enabling EPIC to capture up to 120 frames per second, each frame at full 14MP resolution. Providing native dynamic range of over 13 stops and resolution that exceeds 35 mm motion picture film, this is the camera of the epoch. Add to that RED's newly developed HDRx™ extended dynamic range technology and EPIC boasts an amazing dynamic range of up to 18 stops.

Provided an 8 camera equipment package for the press junket of the lastest installment of 'Pirates of the Carribean - On Stranger Tides' movie. Captain Sparrow AKA Johny Depp also vistied Westfield Shopping Centre for the Pirates movie premiere. This HD programme was produced with a HD OB, including cranes, RF cameras as well as HD distribution into 14 cinema screens.

A truly special evening at the Royal Albert Hall, Russell Watson - the voice himself wowed 5000 people to a thrilling live performance. Video Europe was there with our OB and 10 cameras to record footage for use on his official DVD which will be released later on this year.

We provided 10 cameras for N-Dubz final tour date in the UK at London's o2 Arena. Footage will be used from the show to make their latest official DVD. Dappy from the band gave our newest recruit his trademark beanie hat after the performance as he found out it was his first day at work!

Provided an 8 camera equipment package for the press junket of the new 'Arthur' movie. Russell Brand stars in the remake of the 1981 original film about a playboy billionaire whose family wants him to marry an heiress, though he falls for a working class girl. He must choose between his love or his money. The original starred Dudley Moore.

Our OB units 1 & 2 are to be fully upgraded to HD. Work will commence as soon as the trucks get back from the Royal Wedding, the upgrade will take in the region of four weeks to complete. Basic specification includes a Sony 1.5ME HD vision mixer, 74x74 HD router, new HD vision and EVS postions and a brand new programmable production gallery.

The bags are packed and the flights are booked. Four of us are off to NAB this weekend to see what new equipment will be landing on our shores! It will be very interesting to see which direction large companies such as Sony are heading and also to get our hands on all the latest kit we never get a chance to look at when were here in the UK. We now have on order a complete set of Cooke S4i Prime Lenses. The set will contain 18mm, 25mm, 32mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm lenses. Film makers wishing to use Video Europe will now have the choice of choosing between Zeiss Ultra Primes, Compact primes and Cooke S4i's when shooting their next project. These new lenses will further enhance our newest division, 'digital cinema'.

March was a crazy month for Video Europe. We spent over £500,000 on new equipment this month taking the total spend this year to over £1 million pounds. Video Europe provided a 3 camera add on for BBC/Aljazeera Sport for coverage of the England vs Scotland six nations match at Twickenham. Now we just need the mighty England to win their last game for the grand slam! Come on England...

Due to extremely popular demand we have recently placed an order for an additional 4 x Arri ALEXA cameras. In addition to the Arri ALEXA camera we now carry a wide range of 'digital cinema' products including prime lenses, zoom lenses, follow focus systems, production matteboxes, filters and tripods.

Video Europe covered the prestigious British Asian Sports Awards with 8 HD cameras at the Grosvenor Hotel with special performances from Olly Murs, Jocelyn Brown and Shayne Ward.

Video Europe's Outside Broadcast division has been chosen by Channel 9 Australia to provide its 6 camera HD OB facility for this year's Royal Wedding. Our team will be responsible for 3.5 hrs of live output per day for the duration of the event. A combination of production, lighting and audio facilities will be utilised over this period using the latest broadcast equipment Video Europe has to offer.

The PMW-F3K is equipped with a Super 35mm sensor which is the same size as Super 35mm film and has been specifically developed for digital cinematography. Its positioning within the chassis is exactly the same as it would be within a 35mm film camera – ensuring exactly the same optical performance with the unrivalled range of 35mm Cine lenses. We are currently finalising the location of new premises in South London. In addition to our branches in Soho and Cardiff our new facility will primarily offer camera hire, crewing and Outside Broadcast services.

Whilst our headquarters in Soho runs a very successful operation we think it is important to have a facility outside of central London for a number of reasons. Additional space will allow us to expand our exciting new 'digital cinema' department more easily, a second location in London with flexible opening hours will make hiring cameras for freelancers and production companies far more convenient, and a dedicated home for our OB trucks will simplify operating procedures.

The XF305, one of Canon’s first file-based professional camcorders, combines an MPEG-2, 50Mbps, 4:2:2 codec with a Canon L-series lens and 3 Full HD CMOS sensors for superb HD video stored on CF card.

To keep up with demand we have purchased a further 4 x Sony HDC-1500 Camera Channels, as well as 3 x Sony HDW-M2000, 3 x Sony HDW-2000 and 2 x Sony J-H3.

Our first Arri ALEXA arrived today, first impressions are very good, we all believe this camera will be a winner! As well as the Arri ALEXA we are now able to provide a wide range of prime lenses, zoom lenses, follow focus systems and production matte boxes as part of our investment into our newest division - 'digital cinema'.

We provided HDCAM camera equipment for a mid-shoot visit of the latest upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie. Behind the scenes footage was shot at Elstree FIlm Studios as well as Canary Wharf.
